Meet the friendly faces of
Black Hills Dance Boutique

Lindsay Ulmer
Lindsay Ulmer, BHDB Owner, is thrilled to bring a dance boutique to the Black Hills area. As a former dancer, she believes in hands-on shopping experiences, where items can be touched and tried on to find the perfect fit.
Lindsay has a vast knowledge and experience in dance and gymnastics. She began at a young age at Aerials Gymnastics in Colorado Springs, where she worked her way up to their competitive teams. Though she enjoyed competitive gymnastics, it didn’t take long for Lindsay to discover her love of dance. She was soon invited to dance on a competitive team, training in ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, tap, modern, and musical theatre.
Shortly after, she joined the Rocky Mountain Dance Ensemble under the instruction of Betsy Acree-McClenahan. Lindsay later became a member of the Colorado Youth Ballet Company and Praise Dance Ensemble, dancing at the advanced level with Patricia Hoffman at the Colorado Ballet Society.
Lindsay spent her summers attending various dance workshops and intensives in Colorado and New York, training under the instruction of Anne Adair Wilkins, Lindsay Fischer, Johnny Eliasen, Tony Coppola, and Mandy-Jayne Richardson, among others. Lindsay has danced in The Nutcracker with the California Ballet and in many other productions including, Paquita, Sheherezade, La Sylphide, Frivolities, and Swan Lake.
Along with her love of dance, Lindsay holds a Masters of Education and enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two children, whom she currently homeschools. She proudly serves as a board member for Black Hills Dance Theater. Lindsay also has a heart for global outreach and has spent time serving in Africa and Central America. She is excited to bring quality products to dancers, gymnasts, and fitness enthusiasts all over the Black Hills region; carrying all your favorite brands.

Kate grew up in rural Kadoka, SD, an hour and a half away from any dance studio. She took her first dance class when she was 12 years old and never looked back. Despite beginning dance classes at an older age, she quickly caught up with her peers thanks to her passion and determination.
For two years in a row, Kate was honored to be awarded a scholarship to Snowy Range Dance Festival, where she had the opportunity to train in all styles of dance. Kate is grateful for her experience learning from multiple teachers and professionals over the course of her dance education.
Kate completed training with More Than Just Great Dancing, and currently teaches dance classes and private lessons at a local studio. She enjoys passing on her love of dance to the next generation and is excited to share her knowledge and experience as she assists customers at Black Hills Dance Boutique.
Becky Graesser
